Images you upload are processed in memory to produce your results and are discarded as soon as the page is sent back to you. Sparkle never writes them to disk, keeps them in a database, or uses them to train models. The one exception is the AI explanation, described next.
To explain your results, Sparkle AI is sent a reduced-size copy of your image (at most 1024 pixels) and its colour-blind simulation, through OpenRouter, to an AI model provider (currently Anthropic's Claude). They process it to produce the answer under their own API data policies. Sparkle itself doesn't keep a copy. If your image is confidential, check it before uploading.
